Evan celebrated his first birthday on September 20 with family and friends. He got a vintage red kitchen that he absolutely loves! His "namom" also bought him a red wagon which we take many rides in daily around the block. Caputo, our little dog, occasionally rides with him in the wagon which is pretty funny to watch.
To ring in Evan's birthday, I gave him a cupcake with blue frosting and sprinkles to devour. Little did I know, Evan DOES NOT like to have dirty hands. He played with the cupcake for about a minute, squeezing the frosting between his little fingers, and then broke out in to a hysterical fit when he realized his hands were dirty. Once I cleaned him up, I gave him a plain cupcake to play with, and he ate every crumb. Turns out he likes cupcakes more muffin style than cake style - I'll remember that for next year!
For Evan's birthday, we had some professional photos done of him by a family friend, Jill Thomas, check them out! She is very talented!

First Day of School...Again
Brian had his first day of school today at George Washington University. We took pictures of him before he headed out the door to remember the day he started Graduate School...with the rate we are going and his desire to be a doctor..it looks like we just might have a lot more "First Day of School Pictures" - Evan misses his daddy when he is gone all day but gets sooooo excited when he comes home!
It turns out that Brian is one of 12 students who was accepted in to this Community Oriented Primary Care Program at GWU's Master of Public Health Program. There was 1,000 people who applied so he is feeling pretty good that he got in to the school! He is so excited to travel to D.C. everyday and have the city/graduate school experience. There seems to be a lot of opportunity for him to progress in this program and work towards getting in to Medical School - I am very proud of him.

It's a Boy!
My whole life, I have been impatient...and nothing has changed. On Saturday, Brian and I went to a 3D sonogram place to find out what we are having....it turns out, it's another boy! We are both really excited...although I am getting somewhat outnumbered here! I secretly wanted a boy this time around since the two will be so close in age...it will be so fun to watch the boys play/fight together. We are planning on naming the baby Owen Ray Jones. My grandmother, Marian Lorraine, was one of my best friends growing up. Her two closest brother's names were Owen and Ray - so I thought it would be a nice tribute to my grandmother. We are so excited as our family continues to grow!

Prego Again....
Well its time to officially report Jones Baby #2 making its appearance around Valentine's Day 2009. Brian and I found out that we were having baby #2 a few weeks after we got back from a much needed vacation in the Outer Banks, North Carolina. I was in shock and nervous and Brian was pure excitement..which rubbed off and got me excited as well. Our babies will be 17 months apart - which now makes me think they just might be best friends. It will be fun to have a little friend for Evan and the timing seems right, although close. We recently moved out to the Washington, D.C. area - my homeland. Brian will be going to George Washington University to get a Masters in Public Health and then is on his way to pursue medical school - basically he'll be in school forever, but that is okay:) We will be in VA for at least two years and have an awesome house we are living in and loving! We live in a really nice neighborhood in a three level townhouse - it is perfect. We are just enjoying life and all of the sudden yet fun changes - we'll keep you posted!

Much Needed Updates...
It's been awhile since we have "blogged" - Brian graduated from the University of Utah in December and has now completed all of his medical school applications - time for the waiting game! Evan William is almost five months old and is so much fun. He changes every day and loves his mommy, daddy, and puppy very much:) We are enjoying our increased time together at home but hope to be moving out of Utah sometime in the near future:)

Only a few more weeks...
Baby Evan is due September 19 - only a few more weeks left! Brian and I have finally finished setting up the baby's room, buying all of the ins and outs that it takes to take care of the baby, and getting things organized. It has been a lot of fun to get things ready these past few weeks. I still can't believe how tiny everything is! I washed ALL of the babies clothes (5 loads!) and felt like I was shrinking everything because it all just looked so small - the socks especially! I have my first internal exam today so we'll have to wait and see what happens! I am hoping that I am making some progress and that he'll decide to show his face a little early so that I can go home for a week in October - keep your fingers crossed!

It's a Boy!
Brian and I went to fetal foto last week to find out a little bit early what we are going to be having - I haven't changed much, still impatient and impulsive as ever:)
it turns out we are having a baby boy! We are planning on naming him Evan William Jones - after Brian's oldest brother Evan and other relatives and my dad and brother - William.
